Dyno Tuning Policies.
What you need to know before an appointment.
Shop Policies
- No smoking in the shop. We have a designated smoking area outside the shop. Please dispose of your cigarette butts in the designated receptacle outside the shop.
- There is absolutely nobody allowed in front of the vehicle or near the dyno while the dyno is being operated.
- Please do not help yourself to tools or shop supplies unless you are told otherwise at the appointment.
Hondata
Tuning prices for Hondata are based on 4 hours of tuning time. This includes set-up/tear-down on dyno, dyno time and street tuning time. If you are late to the tuning appointment, this will cut into your tuning time. If your car is in proper running condition, tuning should take no longer than the allotted time. If you want a pump and race gas tune on the same day, you NEED to notify us at the time you schedule the appointment. You will not be able to add a race gas tune to your appointment at a later time.

These systems are complicated and require much more time than OEM based ECU programs such as Hondata. As a result, an entire day of tuning will be set aside for these systems on new tuning appointments to ensure the best end result for the customer. If more time is required, we may have you leave the car for a few days to guarantee good cranking, cold start, and warm up enrichment ability as well as other features.
When tuning AEM on Hondas, we will make absolutely no guarantees on any ignition misfire issues as a lack of running a T1 Cam Trigger Pick Up, AEM Engine Position Module (EPM), or the MSD Pro Billet Distributor. T1 Cam Trigger Kits and AEM EPMs are available for B, D, H, and F-series Honda engines. The MSD Pro Billet Distributor is available for B-series engines only. You will need an upgraded CDI ignition system with AEM. Other AEM applications such as S2000, NSX, Supra, SRT-4, etc. do not require a cam trigger, EPM, or MSD distributor, but you should strongly consider an upgraded CDI ignition sysem. We recommend MSD Digital 6 and 7 series, and M&W Pro 10, 12 and 14 CDI boxes. The OEM coil and ignitor can cause misfiring issues or burn-out with AEM (B/D/H series engines), which will cut your tuning appointment short. We do not recommend MSD Analog CDI boxes such as the 6AL, or the cheaper coils like the Blaster and Blaster ss coils. K-series, F-series (S2000), and C-series (NSX) have sufficient cam/crank sensors and ignition systems for 600-700whp level so upgrading in most cases is not needed. If you are concerned that your cam/crank or ignition system is not going to be sufficient please email tech@evans-tuning.com BEFORE you schedule your tuning appointment.
Retunes
Retunes are only applicable to customers who have been tuned by Evans Tuning previously. The appointment is only considered a retune if that customer is using the same system. Customers switching from one system to another will be charged the full tuning fee.
Race Gas
Tuning fees do not include race gas. Evans Tuning DOES NOT stock race gas. If you want a race gas or E85 tune, you will need to bring your own fuel.
Engine Damage Notice
If you are tuned on a particular type of race gas, you MUST run that same type of race gas when you run your race gas tune. I tune the car specific to the fuel that is being used. If you run a different fuel, engine damage can and will occur!Spark Plugs:
Evans Tuning stocks NGK series 7 and 9 spark plugs. Price is $15.00 for a set of 4, $20.00 for a set of 6 for heat range 7's. Price is $20.00 for a set of 4 and $25.00 for a set of 6 for heat range 9's. If you do not wish to pay for a set during your appointment, bring at least one extra set with you.
Engine Break-In
This consists of 5-10 miles of variable loading while under partial throttle and boost conditions to seat the rings while keeping air/fuel ratios under a optimal level. Several compression and leak down tests are preform during the course of the break-in to ensure that the rings are seating properly.
Labor
Please be advised that the tuning fee does not include the cost of labor if something needs to be fixed on your car.

Deposit Policies.
The details about paying a deposit.
Deposit Policy
In order to schedule an appointment, we require a non-refundable 25% tuning deposit1 before we guarantee an appointment. If you require parts for your tuning appointment the cost of parts must be charged in full to guarantee they will be in stock. We must receive the deposit at the time the appointment is scheduled. Appointments are guaranteed on a first come, first served basis. For instance, if you call to schedule an appointment, but do not pay the deposit at that time and another customer calls later that day and pays a deposit, we will not be able to hold that appointment for you. The deposit will be used towards your total bill on the day of your tuning appointment assuming one of the following happens:
- You show up for your scheduled tuning appointment
- You contact us one week (7 days) before your appointment in order to reschedule
Loss of deposit
You will lose your deposit if you do not give us one week (7 days) notice or if you simply do not show up for your appointment. Giving us 7 days notice means notifying us by the end of our business day, one week prior to the scheduled appointment. If you send us an email or call and leave us a message after we have already closed you will lose your deposit.
Deposits are not transferable
Please note that the deposit is non-refundable. If you decide that you do not want to have your car tuned by us, sell your car before your appointment, etc., your deposit will not be refunded. If we are notified at least one week in advance of this, we will put a credit on file for you that can be used towards a rescheduled tuning appointment or towards the purchase of products. Credits are valid for up to 3 months and is then forfeited.

We will accept money order, personal check, cashier’s check, credit card, or paypal (must include 3%) for your deposit.

Online Orders
In the event that our computer server/database encounters technical difficulties which causes problems with our product pricing, shipping calculations, or sales tax computations, Evans Tuning will correct all discrepancies at the time of processing. Customers will be notified of any errors and will have the option to continue with the order with corrected totals or to cancel the order. Evans Tuning will not be held responsible for any mis-calculated totals due to server errors.
Shipping
Evans Tuning will only ship to the billing address on a credit card. The only exception we make to this policy is if there is an alternate approved shipping address on file with your credit card company. In any case where the customer requests to have their items shipped to an alternate address other than the billing address, we will call to verify that the alternate address is an approved shipping address.
Cancellations
In the event that a customer wishes to cancel an order, he or she will be charged a 10% cancellation fee if the order has not already been shipped. If the order has been shipped then please refer to our return policy. This 10% fee is to cover the costs associated with processing your order (we are billed fees when you place your order and when you are refunded for your canceled order).
Return Policy
Evans Tuning will accept items for return or exchange only within 14 calendar days from the date of receipt. All returns must have a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. All returns must be received within 7 calendar days after the RMA number has been issued and must be sent prepaid. No returns will be accepted COD. Receiving an RMA number does not imply a refund or replacement of the product, but only that we will inspect merchandise based on your claim. Original shipping and handling charges will not be refunded. Only merchandise that is unused and unopened in the original packaging in saleable condition will be accepted. Returns and exchanges will not be accepted on merchandise that has been opened, scratched, installed, mounted, or defaced. You must include the original sales receipt with your return along with a reason for the return. We will not be held responsible for parts that are ordered for the wrong application or for parts that are not legal in your State/City. Please make sure you are ordering the correct part for your car and that you check with local law enforcement officials before placing your order. All returns are subject to a 25% restocking fee. When issuing refunds on parts that were shipped with Free Shipping, we will deduct the costs involved in initially shipping the product to you and the balance will be credited to your account. Returns, cancellations, and exchanges will not be accepted on special order or custom order items. No returns on any electronic items including, but not limited to, engine management systems, boost controllers, ignition components, etc. Absolutely no returns on used product purchases will be accepted. All used parts are sold as is, final sale.
Refused Shipments
All refused shipments do not constitute the right to an exchange, credit, or refund. All refused shipment details must be arranged with Evans Tuning beforehand. Refused shipments are subject to a 25% restocking fee and all shipping charges.
Product Availability
We can not guarantee the availability of any product. We sometimes experience delays with manufacturers and are unable to ship a product immediately after it is ordered. We do our best to ship products in a timely fashion, but if a product is experiencing a manufacturer’s backorder we can not be held responsible. We will notify you of any backorders at the time your order is placed.
Legality of Products
Evans Tuning cannot and will not guarantee the legality of any product as rules and regulations regarding the use of all products sold and installed by Evans Tuning may vary from state to state. It is your responsibility to check with local law enforcement officials regarding these laws. If you violate these laws you may be subject to fines and/or penalties. Most all products sold by Evans Tuning are for off-road use only.
Warranty
Evans Tuning offers no additional warranties on any products sold other than the original manufacturer’s warranty. Products will be submitted to the manufacturer for approval for repair or replacement. Customer is responsible for all shipping and insurance charges along with labor and inconvenience charges. There is no warranty on electronics, internal engine components, and turbo parts unless implied by the manufacturer.
Installations
Evans Tuning will provide a quote on installations based on the work you ask to have performed. We will require a 50% deposit before any work is performed and the remainder will be due at the completion of services. Evans Tuning reserves the right to refuse to install any product we deem necessary. Evans Tuning recommends that any products purchased be installed by professionals. Improper installation of products voids all warranties and will not be accepted as returns.
Tracking numbers
Tracking numbers will only be provided to customers who purchase products through our online store. The tracking numbers will only be sent to the email address provided by you during your online checkout. No tracking numbers will be given out over the phone.
Shipping Claims
If you suspect a damaged shipment, it should be checked in the presence of the carrier. All claims for damaged shipments must be made to the carrier. Evans Tuning will not initiate any shipping claims with the carrier. Claims must be made within 24 hours of receipt of the shipment.
